What is Pediatric Occupational Therapy?
Our pediatric occupational therapist can help your child develop the skills they need in order to grow into functional, independent adults. A child’s “occupation” is play! Children learn how to interact with others, care for themselves, and develop through play. Through our evaluation process, we will determine which areas of skilled development might need advancement. We will work with you and your family to help your child reach all developmental milestones. We believe each and every child deserves to be supported and given the chance to learn and master skills that allow them to succeed throughout their life.
Refer to our Developmental Screening Tool to see what skills typically develop in children between the ages of 1 and 6.

Our work involves the development of these skills and many more:
Understanding OT
We utilize a variety of games, toys and specially designed equipment to keep your child engaged and interested in their therapy. It’s so important to ensure every visit is positive and fun so your child wants to come back for their next appointment.
Adult Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapist can assist you in the development of the skills required to carry out everyday living and/or to find methods to compensate for physical, cognitive, or emotive impairments.
Our work includes:

"My son has been in lighthouse for a little over a year and it’s been great. Tamara is his OT and she is awesome. She’s really patient and caring. Every appointment she tells me how my son did and gives great advice. Shawnee is the admin and is really sweet and always smiling."
